It’s T-Minus 66 days to the 45th edition of the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville. Even though several truck manufacturers like Daimler, Peterbilt, Volvo and Mack have said they’re planning to start exhibiting at the show only during odd-numbered years, show managers say they have taken steps to help make sure everybody’s favorite rigs are still on the scene and still available for purchase.
In response, show management are debuting a new feature, the MATS Truck Dealer Showcase, which will be displaying new model trucks from all major heavy-duty OEMs by way of regional dealer networks.
The showcase will be on display in the South Wing. Representatives for MATS told us the Truck Dealer Showcase has been developed to provide attendees the complete MATS experience in the absence of OEM truck manufacturers. The show says the plan is to make the showcase available only during the years when OEMs opt not to participate.
While the dealer showcase is a new edition, plenty of things won’t be changing at MATS, including all of the special areas and events the 70,000-plus attendees have come to know and love, like the educational seminars, forums, and concerts. Plus the PKY Truck Beauty Championship in the Kentucky Expo Center parking lot. And there will still be free overnight off-site truck parking at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. A shuttle will transport attendees from the lot to the show every day. The shuttle and parking are sponsored by TA/Petro.

More information and registration for the show can be found on its website. Registration remains free until Feb. 29. After Feb. 29 online and onsite registration is $10.
